Random Thoughts

Today is a day of random thoughts.

Wasn't it about 4 or 5 months ago when we were being told that by the time Labor Day came we would be seeing $4 a gallon gas? Well, around here, it is about $2.15 and in southern Minnesota it was $2.11 yesterday and $1.99 in Des Moines. Love that $4 a gallon gas, don't you? Barrel prices dropped again yesterday so it should go a bit lower. Now, we shall see what happens with the stuff coming out of Venezuela. Gotta wonder what those guys are up to. I am guessing some plitical maneuvering for the upcoming elections down there.

Had lunch with a friend today. It was great getting together. Sometimes we need to get together and unload or share good times. She is such a good friend. We will see each other Thursday evening at an LWML Rally and maybe Sunday at an LLL Rally.

I am trying to get caught up around here. Lots of stacks of papers to go through. Also, need to go through and sort clothes. Would like to get my sewing room set up again as I have a couple of projects I must get finished.

I also have to coordinate the music boosters food for Friday's football game. Satuday is Algona Band Days so have a parade to go to in the afternoon. This is the last one! I also have to go through the proofs of AJ's photos and pick some out and get those orderd, but that probably won't happen until next week.

Am glad to see that people can take liquids and gels on airplanes in their carryons now. Granted only small amounts, but at least toothpaste can now go. It is so hard to travel all day and not be able to brush the teeth. Drinks, purchased after going through security are also permitted. So glad of that, but don't have any plans to fly in the near future. The drinks would have come in real handy last week. This weekend, England relaxed their rules for carryons also. They can now take a bigger carryon. They can also take their instruments as long as they submit them for inspection. We had read of musicians cancelling trips or leaving instruments with friends until they can take them on a plane.

So, as you see, these really are random thoughts today.
