The Grandson

I have not posted in here for a while and thought I would talk about little grandson. Samuel is a very special little baby boy. Yes, he is special because he is my grandson. He is also very special because he is a strong little fighter too. You see, his due date was about April 28, but for some reason, he arrived on January 27. Yep, you read that right. Samuel arrived 13 weeks early!! Less than 24 hours later, he was no longer on a respirator. That was rather fast there, thanks to the doctors being able to give Michelle one dose of steroids to help his lungs before he was born. He arrived before the second dose was due. He was dismissed from the NICU 3 weeks before his due date. He had a couple of minor setbacks along the way. He is about to turn 1 in about 10 days and he is doing fantastically well. This is one of the earlier photos of Sam in the NICU. Where Michelle and Ben live, there is a fantastic NICU which was nice for them.

These last two are from New Year's when we were all home for our Family Christmas. He loves to eat his baby food which his Mommy makes just for him!

This Grandma does like "spoiling" Samuel so who needs Santa?
